    Home Equity Loan?

Can anyone tell me what banks or mortgage companies are Bankruptcy friendly in giving a Home Equity Loan?
Our BK was dismissed as of Jan. 2007. I have MS and want to add a bedroom downstairs. Our own mortg. co. told us no because our house mortg. was in the bankruptcy. I don't get that since we paid our mortg. every month.
So any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Was your bankruptcy discharged or dismissed?

If your bankruptcy was discharged (all your non-secured debts were wiped out successfully), then you aren't going to get any decent terms for a home equity loan for 1-2 years and then only with on-time payments and a sterling credit record since filng.

If your bankruptcy was dismissed by the court and your debts were not wiped out, then you aren't going to get a secured loan from anyone for quite awhile.
