I've seen two attorneys so far, both have said I "might" qualify for a Ch 7. Honestly a Chapter 13 seems like a prison sentence. Maybe not so bad for those who already purchaed a home and are able to save it, but for us, we haven't purchaed a home and the thought that we wouldn't be able to for 5 years is horrible, well 7 if you count the two year we'll have to wait after our discharge. And the thought of having someone watching every penny we bring in for five years scares me.
We are over the median salary by 14k or so, but it's our monthly expenses that will maybe get us into a 7.
How many of you got into a 7 because of your monthly expenes? It looks like we are going to go under Federal exemptions. The monthly allowances are a lot higher than what we spend, so it seems like it will be easy to qualify for a 7...but it seems to easy. I don't see how much they allow for daycare expenses. THat's are highest bill, $1470.
Anyway, can some of you who qualified because of your monthly expenses please share your stories...hopefully successful stories.
