Bought a van with open Chapter 7........

So I signed intent to surrender by 2003 piece of crap, beat to hell, Chrysler T and C. Had 84k, owed 14k and was worth 7k (maybe). Searched everywhere for a decent beater for less than 2k. I do mean EVERYWHERE- test drove quite a few too. Nothing worked out. We decided to do a little digging and found a bad credit finance company that runs out of our local Nissan dealer. They had a 2006 Dodge Caravan (base model) with only 19k miles and wanted only 10,500 for it. We figured- what the hell lets give it a shot. We were approved- put our 2k down and got a 14.9% interest rate. Not too terrible and our payments are extremely affordable- we can actually double them and get it paid off as quickly as possible. Its also a 4 cylinder- my fuel gauge hasn't dropped from the fill line yet .

Just wanted to pass it along as I know there are many in a similar situation. To those going to comment about new debt, blah, blah, blah. Yeah- I know but are you going to come and cart my family of 6 around?? Didnt think so.

We are surrendering our 06 Durango and have been looking for a cheap car good on gas. When we purchased the Durango I had a company vehicle and bought it home so it was only drove for pleasure. I will miss it but not 17 miles to the gallon. We are still looking for our cheap car......they haven't called to pick up the Durango yet. We might end up at one of those lots also if we dont find something soon.
