    After Discharge

I'm sorry, I know this question is asked a million times, and I can't seem to find the answers on here at the moment.

I'm trying to clean up my credit reports after my Ch. 7 was discharged in April '05. A couple of credit cards are not displaying exactly right, like one of them is still "open", although in good standing. I can't remember what else it says (balance, bankruptcy, etc). But it's not correct, especially if it's open.

Do I dispute through the Credit agency? (Equifax, transunion, etc) Or send a letter (or call) the credit card company? Or BOTH?

    Thank you.

If you'll check out Catagory2 - rebuilding credit it will give you lots of tips on cleaning up your credit report.

Always send certified letters to your creditors regarding any negative reporting they do. Give them 30 days to change your reporting status.

Make sure all accounts included in bankruptcy say -0- balance due and "included in bankruptcy or Chapter 7 or 13.

If the creditors does not make necessary changes notifty them again that they are breaking the laws reporting negative information (or failing to report) informtion to the credit bureau.

Will take time but you will see you FICO score go back up again, once your get your credit report straightened out.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
