Nosy neighbors

So here we are, all moved in into our new home, which was actually bought for us by my mother in law. We are of course making payments on it but she did the financing because of our bankruptcy.
We recently took a short trip and asked a neighbor to pick up our mail (mistake) from the mail box for a couple of days. She noticed that we were getting mail for another person (credit card offers and such) and she asked about it. So, because this neighbor appears to be very sneaky, how easy would it be for her to find out about our circumstance. Could she find out about our BK somehow? We filed in a different state before moving out here.
I just don’t want everyone to know we filed BK since we live on a circle and everyone knows each other.
Just for fun, I Goggled myself and nothing BK related came up. Thank GOD!

Well if you filed in another state far away I probably wouldnt worry too much. But some people do have a way of finding out EVERYTHING or thinking they know EVERYTHING about you. I know several people like that in fact I have several relatives like that I just try to distance myself from know it alls & nosy people.

Personally, I don't worry about what my neighbors think!!
They don't walk in my shoes or pay my bills.
Besides, most of them draw checks and don't work and the working people pay for it. I have neighbors who the whole family draws checks for having "panic attacks".....
DUH - filing BK caused me to have panic attacks, but I didn't see any checks coming in the mail..............
Most of these people WON'T WORK a job - draw a check - then go work for people for CASH UNDER THE TABLE.
HELL, they live better than most of us who are busting our butts everyday and pay no taxes on it.
Don't tell neighbors anything, then they don't know anything.
Be friendly, sociable, and only tell them "what" they need to know, nothing more.
Don't want anyone going thru my mail, so I make arrangements with the Post Office to hold my mail. They will hold it up to 30 days for you if you request.

I don't like "nosey neighbors" and cut them very short when they start asking things that are none of their business.

I'm the kind of person who will help my neighbors in any way, but I also believe in "minding your own business"!!

Thanks for that response... LOL...
I figure it would be rather hard for my nosy neighbor to find out about my out of state bankruptcy. And actually I do care, because moving out here was our fresh start and I would hate to have a nosy neighbor destroy that for me.
