chase said they can report bal after discharge, because i never paid it!!!!

i am soo angry with chase i called yesterday because in my eq report they show co before i filled till present,,,i filed in 1/2007 discharged 5/2007...she said she will take some co off up to my discharge date. but will continue to show a balance because it was never paid i told her i was discharged but she continued to say there books say different even though i was discharged the debt was not paid...also in 6/2007 they pulled my credit under the soft pulls w/ a ar next to it which means pulled for a review, isnt that a violation?

also when cant they report from is it the filing date or the discharge date?

she also told me there is no law saying they have to report iib 0 bal.and told me i was suppose to dispute it with them first not the cra.

get you BK papers and write a letter to Trans union EQ and EX
explain who you are and what happened
give then accounts numbers and dates
send the letters cert and overnight
once you recive the letter back from them they have 45 days to address the issue you will recvie a letter at that time stateing what they found and are doing about it

My brother had close to the same issue after the letter his score went back up to a 630 from a low 500 in 60 days
    Filed Chap 7
    3.23.08
    341

Chase tried to pull the same crap with me. Disputed it with the cra by sending them a copy of my discharge paper and a copy of the matrix listing them. CRA removed it, and never came back.

You made a basic mistake in that you are calling the creditor about reporting issues. You need to dispute with the CRA's, you are wasting time contacting creditors about credit reporting issues.

Just be totally honest with them. They already know most of the answers to the questions they are going to ask you. My hubby was surprised at the things they asked and knew about.

I agree w/ HHM, if you have problems with things reporting you contact the CRA. You don't contact the creditor, they could careless about how it is reporting.

Some people here have reported that they were able to get security clearance after bankruptcy.
Unless you went bankrupt because of gambling or something nefarious, I don't see why it should matter.
In fact, it seems to me, someone with less debt after bankruptcy should be a better security risk than someone with a lot of debt. Think about that and point it out to them in an interview if you get one.
