Was the IRS at your 341?

Just curious. My 341 is coming up soon and I was wondering if the IRS might make an appearance as a creditor? I owe about $9,000.00 in back taxes and they just recieved my 2007 business and personal tax forms because they were under extension.

That would certainly add to the stress level. Any personal observations would be truly appreciated.

We included our prior year taxes owed to the IRS when we filed but the IRS was not at our 341; however, we owed about $500 in State Taxes and our State had a representative there that was always at the table for anyone who had state taxes included in their filing/Plan and that representative spoke to you directly during the hearing and stated that you owed such and such amount to the state and rambled on for a few sentences about how it was your responsibility to pay your taxes as a US citizen. To say the least, I was floored.

We included $3K to the IRS and they were not there. We did however receive a letter when we got home from them.

Really? What an idiot. Sorry, just sounds like he was full of himself and his "power." He probably went home and kicked his dog too

Yes, the IRS was at my 341's and I owe them nothing. Several cases were before mine, and the IRS appeared at all of them. I noted that the IRS asked to receive "Notice" in the cases of everyone.

Petej...yea it said something about them wanting money and how much it would cost me if I waited to pay vs paying now. I got online and set up a payment plan. I still would like to see a letter from them telling me they kept my stimulus.

                  Momicantfindmy,

I owe back taxes too. Did your lawyer recommend you not put your back taxes in the plan? I'm thinking its much better to put it in the plan because that stops interest from continuing. So I'm curious as to that strategy.

                      holdingon,
I filed a 7 so my taxes are not in a plan. My personal plan is to pay them off asap. I set up a payment plan but I do not benefit from the 0 interest. I think I calculated mine will be payed off in August.
