There is NO legal way to remove a BK from your credit report if it is reporting correctly. Having said that, there are approx 200 ways you can remove the reporting if it is NOT reporting correctly. There are steps these companies use to get the BK off if it is NOT being reported correctly ex wrong year, date etc. I also believe they only get one shot at reporting it correctly. If it is not reported correctly I believe they have to remove it and CANNOT place it back on. I am not 100% sure of the last part, maybe someone can chime in and help out here.Originally posted by stopthebleeding View PostJust wondering if you can actually erase your bankruptcy from your credit. i have known others that say it works . If you go to the Bankruptcy and Credit News forum and look for a posting I made on there several weeks ago quoting an article on this subject, the article explains how these credit clean up places do it. It is not a permanent solution; when you quit paying money to one of those clean up places, it all just reappears on your reports and the creditors upon which you file BK have their own information on you as to your filing. Some people pay hundreds of dollars a year to these places and they are in business to make money off of you and other people who think they can get BK permanently off their records._________________________________________

There is only one problem with that; if you try to obtain credit through one of the creditors in your filing or any of the many department stores or other stores associated with them, they've got your filing right there in their own records which they do not delete. If they pull your credit report and don't see them or other creditors listed in a filing or a public information listing for BK not there, not a good thing.Originally posted by Fazeloss View PostPaying "hundreds of dollars a year" for a clean credit report for only 10 years when it will legally drop off sounds like a good deal to me.
For instance, Chase is one creditor known not to ever extend credit to anyone who includes them in a BK filing; and that extends beyond the 7 to 10 year time frame that it could appear on credit reports. They keep their own records on accountholders, past and present.
Also, nothing is guaranteed not to reappear on one's credit report if it is being disputed and temporarily removed. The CRAs are getting wise to all this stuff and getting back to people that the items are verified and being reported correctly forcing one to contact the creditor directly to have the change implemented._________________________________________
