    Need Advise on Temp Position

I am supposed to start a temp position tomorrow. I have been trying to find a job for over a month now and have had no luck as of yet. Currently I am unemployed. I had filed a chapter 13 in April and already had the meeting of creditors. My confirmation is scheduled for this week. My lawyer told me I do not have to go to this since he is representing me.

My question is that the recruiter I am working with for this temp job is meeting me at the employer location tomorrow. I am really worried because I have not filled out paperwork yet and imagine I will be doing that tomorrow. With that said if I have to sign something for a background/credit check would you advise that I ask what the background check consists of and if it involves a credit check let her know about the bk?

Has anyone here experienced a similar situation?

I am really nervous about this and any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

The majority of employers run both on a new employee. Usually above where you sign on your paperwork/application for a job it states that your signature allows they to run a background check and/or credit check on you. Prior to that, they do not have your social security number or your permission. Many places now also fingerprint. Whether or not it is a temp position job doesn't matter.

If asked about anything, just be honest and forthright. Do not lie.

Would you suggest that I disclose the bk before they run the credit check?

I would tell them in advance. I was looking for after filing and after all of the other interview questions and things were done and I knew that they were interested, I just told them that I wanted to let them know that I was in a Ch 13 Reorganization and would that affect my position. All three companies seemed fine and told me that they appreciated me telling them but it would not affect my getting the position. I was not offered one job, but not b/c of the bankruptcy and was offered the other 2. I just felt it was better for me to tell them than they run a check and come back with questions.
