Hello Everyone!
We paid off our Chapter 13 and FINALLY closed on our home yesterday after having it on the market for almost one year. We made the decision to abandon it last fall and after much legal wrangling and hassle with the mortgage company it is SOLD!!
Of course, the BK hasn't been discharged and I know that the creditors have to cash the checks and the final report has to be done, etc., etc., etc., but from what I am told worst case scenario is that we will be discharged early fall.
What a HUGE relief! I can now move on with my life, stash away every penny I can and save for my future. I'm not exactly a "spring chicken", but I'm not decrepit either. Plenty of livin' left "if the Good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise"
Although I rarely post now, you "Old Timer's" know what a sanctuary this forum has been for me on days where I didn't know if I could keep going on with life. Thank you to all of you for your support and encouragement. For those of you who are newbies, I wish you peace and encourage you to take it "One day at a time."
Grace, peace, and ALL good,
jane
