If you have about 300.00 leftover but have unsecured debt at 36k is it reasonable to go Chapter 13 or Chapter 7?

Which way do you want to go? I would think a Chapter 7. You probably need to go over ALL expenses and make sure you haven't left anything out. There is an expense calculator and an IRS guide you can use to help you determine expenses. Once you have done that you will probably want to consult an attorney. It is August 1 and the courts are jammed with filers so dont wait too long to decide.

If you have disposable income, you will have no choice but to go Chapter 13.
Go over your expenses, most people under estimate their living expenses the first few time through. If you can show that your livinvg expenses is about the same or slightly more than your income, then you can file a Chapter 7, which would be better in your case.
