I finally turned in all our paperwork

    Baby steps...

It took us forever to find an attorney we liked and trusted. Then we got the huge packet of paperwork to fill out. We worked on that for a few weeks. It took forever, with work and 2 kids, spare time was hard to find. We finally turned it in a week ago. The attorney said he would probably contact me the 2nd week of July.

I'm so nervous. I hope everything goes well. We are over the median income, but we pass with the means test. We have nothing over the allotted allowance for expenses, so I'm hoping it will be easy.

I'm sure I'll need a lot of hand holding in the coming weeks.

Thanks everyone here. YOu all have been fantastic.

I hear ya! When we received this huge legal size document that had to be at least 20 pages long of things that had to be listed/estimated in our house, I wanted to procrastinate so badly that my husband was laughing at me (I hate procrastination - LOL!). But you know, you do it, get it done and before you know it it is all filed and life goes on....relax!

      Downward (soon to be upward),

Congratulations on getting the paperwork done. I haven't approached that day yet, but it won't be too much longer. Take a breath and give yourself and your family credit for getting this done!!!!

Nothing wrong with being nervous. If you can, see if you can turn some of that nervousness into planning for the future after bk. Have you figured out your monthly budget assuming you get fully discharged for a chapter 7? You figured out how much you guys will be contributing to pension, to 401? How you much you need to save for emergency fund? Where you can cut costs? ....I say distract yourself by planning the next step. But that's me. Good luck and congrats again!

I know what you mean...I have been dragging my feet in filling out the paperwork for our attorney. I am soooo nervous too! By reading everything on this board, I know how important it is to fill out EVERYTHING and list everything correctly. My "packet" was due May 31st...I've postponed it until July 7th (I also wanted to have a payment for the attorney too). We've also stopped paying the creditors, so I think I want to "push back" our file date too, to save up a little emergency cash....

        Good Luck
