    Rental market in Florida?

I know this isn't about mortgages but since there was no specific heading about renting...

At any rate, we are contemplating moving to Florida in a year or two (specifically near the Winter Springs (Seminole Co.) area, and was hoping our bk (discharged as of May) would not be an obstacle to finding a decent house or townhouse to rent in a safe family oriented neighborhood. If we find we love the area we would then eventually look to buy.

Has anyone had experience with renting (nice) houses in Florida, particularly the central Florida area?

    Thanks in advance!

We are currently renting in Pasco County FL and live in a nice, gated community. Our landlord built the house in the up market and decided to rent it until the market improved. We were honest with him about our bankruptcy and have paid on time every single month...no problems. The people down here are so desperate to not lose their houses, they are turning to renting. We are renting a 2,000 sq ft home for $1300/mo gated community with a clubhouse (pool, media room, fitness room, etc)...you just can't beat it!! Plenty of kids, very safe area. Good Luck!
