Does anyone have Progressive Insurance

Since AAA appears to be almost doubling my auto premiums - does anyone here have Progressive Auto insurance or has anyone requested quotes from them? Just wondering how they are with BK. I requested quotes last night from Geico (very good quote!). Also got AARP Hartford -that quote was also very good but there is a caveat that the quote could change due to the credit report. I don't regret filing BK one bit but this insurance thing sucks!

I've never had progressive insurance. I do know when you have an accident there are only certain body shops you can go to. (My aunt and uncle own a body shop, so I'm kind of partial to them making all repairs for me.)

I have Allstate. They just renewed our policy this week, no changes in our premiums.

Good luck!

When we had our Harley we had Progressive. We did not have any claims, however they were so much cheaper on rates then anyone else was that is how we ended up with them. We had a very old Harley ('76) and some wanted upwards of $300 yrly (sat most all the time and this was only liability), they charged $100 yrly.

If our rates jump because of BK, we will go with whoever offers us the best rate for all our insurance needs.

Good luck and my recommendation is find whoever offers the best rates and ask friends who they use. Some base their rates on your insurance (credit) score, others don't.

Help!

I have Progressive. Not sure about new policies but they did not raise our rates (we just renewed).

I have Progressive as well. They are a pretty darn good organization. And, they clearly state (I saw it somewhere on-line at their website) that the credit report is a factor in the determination of premiums. How big a factor is not mentioned.

I was turned down by GEICO several years ago - in their rejection letter to me, they said there were a couple items on my credit report that bothered them (I was not in BK at that time). A couple of months later, they contacted me again and said that my credit report situation did not matter any longer. They send mailings constantly.

I've known people with poor driving records that have been able get Progressive. We have Allstate ourselves and so far are satisfied with that.

I have preogressive as well. I did not have to use their body shop. It was offered, however. Hope my rate doesn't change.

I have Geico and applied for it after filing BK 13. They didn't check my credit and their rates were much cheaper than what I was paying at the time. My quote did go a little higher once I completed the application, but it was because I had an accident 4 years ago that was showing up on my record--no mention at all of the BK.

I have Allstate...kinda expensive, but after we get our repayment plan confirmed, I'm going to switch to whoever is cheaper.

Progessive, State Farm and AAA all do credit checks...I don't know if a bk will reflect your premium, but I checked into these companies within this past month (haven't filed yet).

Good Luck and let us know.

Turns out that when I responded to a AAA questionnaire about 2 months ago I accidentally made it look like my daughter also drove my car. Wrong! So I have to FAX my AAA agent a disclosure sheet that shows that she is covered on her father's car insurance. Wow, am I relieved! Thanks for all the words of encouragement and advice - I appreciate it. :yahoo:

My kids are 11 & 13 so we are getting closer and I dread it! They simply are going to have to have some part time job to help with the expense of driving. I did it and it didn't hurt me a bit, well then again, it didn't help either, I'm still not the brightest in the bunch when it comes to money.

Oh well good news fslady, always good news to find out your not going to be spending more money!
