PACER is an acronym and it is a Federal Database of all Court proceedings. It is 8 cents a page to view your docket and information. You can save this and rename it and print it out later. You need Acrobat Reader that is free on the Internet. It is in PDF file. The 8 cents adds up fast so be careful as I have had to pay a couple hundred dollars, however my case is a little more complicated. You really need pacer and many here will help you. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

You don't really need PACER unless you feel you have an extremely complicated case and just feel the need to view everything about your matter. It can cause a lot of stress, anxiety and, as others have stated, expense. One person on here stated she ran up over $700 on PACER and could not pay it and wanted to include it in her BK filing. It can get beyond and drive one nuts if one is not careful. We never utilized it and our attorney sent us quarterly printouts as to our matter and copies of all court documents, and our Trustee sent us a complete update directly every six months as to our Plan._________________________________________
