I bet this is a sign that auto lending is cracking down... eek! I need to get refinanced into a better rate before it gets worse.

    CASH IS KING!

    (just need the cash though)

When I hear this I do feel bad for the auto industry as a whole. My guess and I hope I am wrong is cars and trucks will come down in price to adjust to this and you guessed it, they will be made in china like flat screens, ipods & everything else.

I think it's more an indication that the subprime lending pool is drying up. Access to credit for people with poor credit scores and low income is gonna be tougher to come by.

True. This may not be such a bad thing though.

The current crisis was caused most by this.

I heard Capital One also cracked down on guidelines starting last month. Neither myself or Husband could get an approval.

We'll see more banks and lending institutions crack down on liberal lending. You'll see it in the housing loan market, auto loan market, signature loans and even credit cards. The days of easy credit are ending probably for at least a generation.
