Paying on bills prior to filing
We are waiting 2 to 3 months to file Chpt 7 so we can fall below the income qualifications. I sent letters to all of my creditors explaing the loss in income and that I would be paying half of the amount to each one. Can they still choose to send us to collections if they accept the payment?

Yes they can and if you are going chapter 7, stop paying them at all and save your money for the bk. Your credit will be dinged no less for not paying or just wasting the resources you currently have. Trust me, even bk is not cheap and you will need money to get your new start going.
