I signed a lease for an apartment last month just prior to when I stopped paying my unsecured creditors. When I submitted my apartment application my credit score was high and there were no delinquencies. I had no problems getting approved. I know that the management company of the apartment complex has no reason to check my credit for the next 12 months but what is the likelihood that they will recheck it when it's time for my lease renewal next year? Has anyone here ever been evicted because they filed BK after signing the lease? I will make my rent payment on time every month - no exceptions - and so hopefully, if they do recheck it, they will see that I am still a good renter.
