I filed BK7 on July 31st and am waiting on my 341 meeting.
Today, my ex-MIL came to my house trying to get me to sign this check from the payoff on my ex-wife's car. I was instructed by my BK lawyer not to sign anything that has to do with that car because it was part of my BK estate. I told her "no" and she went ballistic and started yelling at me in my yard.
She kept telling me that if she had to get involved, she would make sure that I would lose my house and that she would be watching the place. Not sure what she is watching for, but whatever. I filed BK7 with the intention to keep the house. It is up-to-date and will be re-affirmed. In the divorce, my ex-wife signed a quit claim deed, I was assigned to pay the house payment which I have done religiously, and there was no language in the decree that stated that I would ever need to re-finance.
So if I keep paying timely payments, is there any way that my ex-wife could make me lose the house by her filing if I'm paying on it? I think she's just blowing smoke up my behind but wasn't sure.
I'm probably going to get a consultation with a lawyer over all of this too but that may take a couple days.
