    WAMU is now JPMorgan Chase

So what happens to those of us who listed Chase as a creditor in BK and have a WAMU Credit Card account.

My prediction is my credit card will be closed....eventually.

I was just advised by a co-worker that if you are a long term WAMU cardholder with good credit after your BK, your card should not be cancelled out - you may receive a new card with a lower limit though when all is completed as to WAMU former accounts.

We didn't BK Chase (that I remember) but my husband and I have individual WaMu CCs. I hope they don't mess with them. It's nice to have them in case of an emergency (they are our ONLY CCs). Our discharge is 4 years old now and we've rebuilt and bought a home since then. So maybe Chase will leave us be?

      I miss WaMu already.

        A co-worker. Sounds like a reliable source.:

Sorry if this was posted in another WaMu thread, but here's something from Chase.

Logan - Some folks on here know I work in a law firm which specializes in Business Law...only a few of my old time friends here know of my BK so I asked some questions of a higher up "co-worker" as to the scenario and posted her comments on here as to what could occur and will probably occur as to folks previously filing BK and including Chase in their filing, and now having former WAMU cards that will now be JPMorgan Chase cards....If I worked somewhere else I would not have posted the information....

              Flamingo,

I hope your co-worker is right but from the experience I have with the very large company I work for nobody knows anything until it happens. And even then you never know if that's going to change.

I just applied for another card with Juniper who has been very aggressive with their mailings. I was approved so I could care less what WAMU does. I just want at least 3 trade lines.

Well, the deal was - JPmorgan bought Wamu's deposits and branch.
They didn't mention anything about credit card division.
Even if they bought entire company, I doubt, they will close good standing account.
It could happen but I doubt it.

I am more concern about my checking account.
Wamu was only bank that has free checking no strings attached.
No direct depost, no minimum balance, no minimum activity, etc
Is this an end of era of free checking?
