so I am scared out of my stomach that creditors will try to seize my moms bank account so the lawyer is reccomending a attorney trust account where he would hold the money for us...it sounds very legitimate and will definately make me sleep better at night. have any of you heard of this?

No I haven't heard of that. Why can't you both close the account and have your mom go open a new account at another bank in her name only? -
well i just dont feel safe for her account to be opened with any bank because I have the constant fear that they will take money out of her accounts without knowing. this attorney trust account would be as the attorney is holding our money for us, the attorney would not be allowed to use the money or anything without asking anyway so I really do trust him. Our other option was to take out the cash and then put it in a saftey deposit box in my bank but he said that looks like giving money away to the trustee and this is a good option...I dont know does anyone else have any opinions on this?Filed-10/2008

I would not do it. Who's going to take the money out of her account? Is she filing? If its only you, your name should be out, and she is fine on her own.Comment
