    Surrendering Property

    Hi all.

    I filed bankruptcy this past week.

    In the papers, I opted to surrender my car, because I owe WAY more than it's worth.

    What are the rules behind surrendering. When do I have to surrender the car exactly? The day my credit union got word that I had filed, they immediately called and informed me that I must surrender the car immediately. I have not yet done so, as I am not sure about doing that, and want to do everything right.

    Any advice?

    Go ahead and return the vehicle ASAP.
