5 year plan end

When does the 5 year plan end in a chapter 13? Is it the filing date or the confirmation date. I have been paying monthly since filing however my confirmed plan payments were much higher than my original payments that I paid during the months of filing and confirmation.

The 5 years starts from the date of filing. (or at any rate, the date you made your first payment). However, you must keep making payments until you receive notification from the trustee to stop. Generally, many debtors will make an additional 2-3 payments past the 5 years, but that money gets refunded.
