1 month gone and still no petition

Well...it's been one month since I retained my lawyer. Called yesterday and she's working on and off of it. Still says it's going to be Sept 15. Then I complained that it has been 4 weeks and that I could have already had it done. She said in two weeks.

So I sent a kiss-butt, thank you so much, you work so hard letter hoping to sticks with the two week and didn't just tell me that to shut me up.

I'll tell you what, if nothing happens by at least the 15th of Sept. I'm going to have to get the paperwork, pay the filing fee, and then SUE them for my money back! LOL

UUUGGHHH!!! Just want to get this over with. I KNEW I should have done it on my own.

I think for the most part, people don't know they can file for themselves. My dad has fought with me about this a few times telling me I can NOT file my mom's BK for her, we HAVE to have a lawyer, well.. guess what? It's filed.

It took me about a week of reading here and asking questions before i had everything done. It was cheap and pretty easy.

I think because most people think they have to have a lawyer, the lawyers are getting backed up, but STILL.. 4 weeks.. please, it should take at the most a few days. (my opinion)

I paid my lawyer in Nov., filled out and turned in my paperwork a couple of months later. My lawyer filed my petition for BK in July. I was glad for the wait because I stopped using my credit cards in October so by the time my petition was filed in July it showed that I hadn't used my credit cards in a long time. I know the Oct. deadline is coming and the new filers don't have this luxury so hopefully your lawyer will get things rolling soon.
