Question: I received the discharge order today, but I was told that it can take 2-4 weeks for the case to close. Can anything happen to me no, or can I pretty much be assured that my case is over? Please advise....thank you!!

As for what might happen to you between now and closing, it depends on the particulars of your case. If it is a Ch7 No Asset, it's unlikely anything will occur...it should stay quiet until closing. If it's an asset case...well, things can and do happen, again depending on the particulars of your case.Filed BK (Ch. 7) 6/2/08

If you were no asset, it should be shortly...my case closed a week later, other members had cases which closed a couple of weeks to a month later. It seems to be dependent on your particular BK court and how backed up they are. If you were an asset case...there's really no way to tell. CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are an asset case and are making payments to the trustee to keep our stuff. That will end with the April payment. We were Disharged 8/13/08, but won't close until sometime after April 1.
But anyway, CONGRATULATIONS again!!! Here you go!!
