    Question on notice received?

I just received a notice that one of my ccs has turned over the account to a financial system for collection. My question is this

We are meeting with the lawyer Oct 22 to file everything. So, is this something I need to tell the lawyer about beforehand, or can it wait till we go in there the 22nd? Just trying not to get paranoid about things.

Thanks in advance...you guys are wonderful and a life saver!!

No, you're okay. This is routine for the origianl creditor to sell its debts to a collection agency. You can mention it on Oct 22 when you meet, though.

You should still tell your lawyer now so the collection agency can be added to your list of creditors before you go into the office to review your filing forms and (hopefully) sign them if they are accurate. Not telling your lawyer about this now means the forms required to add this creditor will have to be redone the day you go into the office. This might delay your signing if the office doesn't have time to do that on the spot. Why take the chance?
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Coming from the person who is always stuck changing the forms last minute...
Call them or send them an email or fax them the notice with all the info for the CA. It will save you lots of time. Some offices will make you come back a different day to sign if there are changes that need to be made.
