Who gets notified of a Chapter 7

If you are able to keep your car payments and mortgage payment, are those creditors notified? We have a lot of unsecured debt and a house we can't sell. If we file chapter 7 will the keepers of the secured debt be notified if we don't include them in the Bankruptcy?

You must include all your debt, secured or not in your paperwork. If you intend to keep an item such as car, you can reaffirm the loan (takes it out of bankruptcy protection) or pay through (meaning just keep paying for it, they don't want it back). Everybody will be notified about any change in status including your discharge or dismissal. Hope that helps a bit. 'Hub
