Some important questions you may want to start with is regarding the attorney and his/her case experience. Basically, grill each attorney as if you're an employer holding interviews with potential candidates. I would definitely ask how long they've been practicing, how many cases they've handled.......stuff like that. Remember, you're paying the lawyer to do a service and you have every legal right to ask them all of the questions you want.
For the most part though, the attorney is going to ask all of the questions, and I'm sure along the way, you'll have questions yourself, so fire away at will.Bankruptcy History:

Discharged - 02/16/2006

All suggestions are based on personal experience and research and SHOULD NOT be construed as legal advice as I am NOT an attorney. Always consult with competent counsel in your area with regards to your particular situation.

Don't go to the attorney without having all of your figures in order (a brief summary is ok where you have the current balances owed and estimated six months past income). Bring in pay stubs, all HH income.
Be as specific with the attorney as you can. You need to know the big stuff and the little stuff too. An example of the little thing is: I found out from my attorney that the trustee in our district hates satalite TV. When she see's that the debtor has Directv or Dish - she thinks the debtor is a spendthrift and reviews their file a little more harshly. So naturally, I canceled my Directv service several months ago and I don't owe them anything so they are not on the filing. Those sorts of tips help (IMO). Only attorney's that work in the district regularly know these types of triggers.Filed CH 7 9/30/2008
