can i sell my car?

im in the middle of paying off my 13, and have a car worth about 7000. im considering selling it becuase i need the money. would i be able to do so and keep the money while in the 13 or would they want the money put into the 13?

im in ohio if that matters.

You need to discuss this with your attorney since if you are able to do this, you will need Trustee permission.

If you sell your property (includes cars) without the courts permission, they can dismiss your bankruptcy and refuse to discharge your debts. You need to ask your lawyer to file a motion with the court and get their ok, but they will want that money. You can sell it, but if they find out you did and didn't tell them, then you're in trouble.

If your Chapter 13 gets "dismissed" (discharge occurs when you complete the plan in full and all payments are made), you are right back at step one before you filed with all bills at 100% (amount owing at time of filing) plus interest but the payments you made during your plan are credited from the amount owed at filing. Having your plan dismissed is the last thing you want to happen.
