Can I still keep auto?

I am about 3 months behind on my auto payment,but current on my mortgage.I was wondering could I still keep my auto if I file chapter 7? If I claim that I want to keep the vehicle on my petition,will I be able to reafirm the loan?

I know my lawyer told me that i had to be current to reaffirm. Im actually 2 months ahead on mines. Is it possible to be current on the loan. send in a few extra pymts

They will usually work with you no matter how behind you are. They don't want to lose money. I was 3 months behind and put the car on my ch7 years ago and the bank called me knowing I was surrendering the car to ask if I want to work out a deal with them. I actually felt guilty about that since he was a nice guy willing to work with me.
