When I told my lawyer about an account that my son has (with my name on it), he said don't do anything with it or it will raise flags. This is an account that we put money into here and there for his college fund. I do not take money out of it, I can barely put money into it. Anyway, there is $5000.00 in it, will it raise a flag if I take the money out, close the account and get my son the braces that he so desperately needs?
I know it's for my sons college, but I would rather use it now than lose it to them later.
Any thoughts?
