Too many posts regarding it - it brings back too many entries. Enter "341 meeting" and it'll bring up less also check out the FAQs in the third category.
It's nothing scary - except the wait, from what I've read. It'll last about 3-10 minutes depending on the complexity of your case. I'm not sure what creditors will ask if they show - I'd like to know because I have a feeling at least one of mine will show up.
You should be informed ahead of time about what to bring, especially if you are working with an attorney. General standards is to be prepared for everything - to file I made a binder w/all my debts, tax returns, my bank statements and pay check stubs. I made a copy and plan on presenting it to the trustee if they need it. Bank statements range from 6months to 2 years, depending on what your trustee asks for. I never really paid that close attention to my statements, now I keep them all in a file! LOL

Normally, no creditors ever show up that the 341 meetings. Very rare I've been told.... would have to be something out of the ordinary like new purchases (large amounts) in the last 60-90days.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Don't worry. I found it good to arrive early, watch some others and determined that the ones who my trustee inquired further and seemed agitated with were those who did not answer directly and also, one man with a Rolex was asked about it; another who had sold a home recently and pocketed $40,000 cash from the recent sale and said he had spent it all -- well, the trustee ordered him to return with proof of all those purchases including canceled checks and all and continued his meeting to about two weeks later. But just be honest and short with your answers and my trustee seemed to like this and I was through in probably 2 minutes. Don't worry and your attorney -- if you have one -- should make you feel better sitting there at the table with you. And in about 15 different people ahead of me and myself there were no creditors that showed up. I think that hardly happens. Good luck and relax, it will be okay.
