    Almost finished w/BK. What's next?

My last payment for Chpt. 13 will be September 8, 2005. This has been a long drawn out process, but I made it through it. I'm going through a divorce right now and that is tough. I figured the Chpt. 13 gives me a lot to look forward to. My first question is:
How long will it be before I receive my discharge paperwork?
What is my next step to rebuilding my credit?
Is there life after bankruptcy and divorce.
Thanks for you inputs. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy that things are turing around for me and my kids. I just want to stay on the right financial train track.

The discharge takes time: Somewhere close to forever

Because of the way my pay cycle works, I finished payments three months early. Then, the three years were up in May. The trustee owes me a couple of thousand dollars becasue they kept taking money.

I'm still waiting for the discharge.

Whatever, "discharge as soon as practical" means, it doesn't mean a darn thing to me. I've never been more frustrated about anything in my whole life. I'm almost six months out, and I'm still waiting for that piece of paper.

Fresh start? I guess when they get around to it.

    Good luck.

By-the-way:We have no problem getting credit, already. Although I really don't want any credit at the moment, everyone and their mother wants to give it to me. Hubby filled out a paper the other day. He thought that it was a "club" card, like at a grocery store. Turns out that it was a store credit card: immediate approval over the lines while he shopped.

Go figure. I could shoot him. Luckily, it's not a store we use. I HATE store cards. (There was a fan on sale that we needed for work, so he stopped in.)

It seems that a finished Ch 13, even without the discharge in hand, makes you a viable credit risk. This country is nuts.
