Call Screener - why didn't I buy one sooner?!

First of all, I want to say that I am NOT connected in any way to the company that makes these things. I just wanted to share this with others that may be getting overwhelmed with phone calls every day like us.

We recently starting falling behind on CC payments to about 12 different cards, and our phone started ringing off the hook within the first week of payments being late. I started looking online for some kind of caller ID box that would block all unwanted calls. I found one that works like a charm, and now our phone has stopped ringing, only our friends and family calls come through!

It works like an email spam filter. You install this box on your main phone line, before your phone. You enter all of your friends, family, work, etc, numbers into the "A" list, and only those numbers are allowed to come through and ring on your phone. Any other calls that are not on your "allowed" list do not even ring at all. The caller on the other end hears your phone ring continuously untile they hang up, but it never rings on your phone! The caller ID history is logged into the memory for EVERY call so you can see exactly who calls and how often, but only calls from your "allowed" list actually ring through to your phone - It's Awesome!!

Anyway - I will again say that I'm not affiliated with this company, and there may be other similar products out there, but this thing has been a godsend for us!!

Hope this helps others as well...

Even better, I used my computer to do that job, modem's port intercept every incoming calls into house and VB (visual Basic) programs do the screening/hanging up calls... # imported from Excel list.. output calls back into my monitor's display or Excel list report (with #/time/date) instantly.

    It's totally FREE baby!... Yeeehawwww....

LOL. Yep, digital phone service and the ability of the receiving party to control their phone calls is WAY ahead of the CA and JDBs' ability to get a call through. You have to love technology! You just need to know how to use it. We now have a new phone system where I work, and I can program the phone to ignore any and all calls that I have not preset as "receive." In particular, I think my "ignore" list is connected to the main switchboad. Once the number is recognized as "ignore," I believe the main switchboard doesn't even accept it. I don't know if the ignored caller gets a ringtone, but I don't really care.

Here's a free program that works with your computer modem and phone line. Can be tricky finding the right modem which must have Caller ID and Voice capability. But it is versatile - a specific wave file for each number, logs all call details on computer, etc. Useful for a land line phone without paying the phone company for the screening features. Only need Caller ID.

I've used this for four years. I've never talked to a collector, ever, but they have spent 1000's of minutes wasting their time listening to my wave files.

Oh my gosh, I downloaded it and it's hilarious!! I love the "telemarketer" wav.

Even though we don't get harassing phone calls anymore, it's nice to have for unknown or blocked calls. Thanks!!
