OK -
We've officially filed today. I have to admit that I'm still nervous about the process. I'll probably feel better after we have our meeting with the trustee.
At what point will we "lock in" with our payments? Should I assume that comes in about 90 days? We've been instructed to pay the trustee a set amount until then. After we've past this point is it possible for them to raise the amount you owe? I know that an increase in salary can affect your payments to the trustee, but I am not sure how it affects the amount.
It appears that all my tax returns will automatically get handed over to the trustee at this point (from what my lawyer explained). What I am not clear on are things like bonuses (if I am so lucky to get one). Do they confiscate all of those as well or just adjust your payments based on how much this increases your income?
Thanks!
