I've started the new job (or as they want me to call it, career move)... I really like it, so far, but haven't done much today as my direct supervisor is out sick and the HR lady that is supposed to be setting me up is on vacation until tomorrow. I've been thinking alot about the modifications and other stuff that I have been worried about and I've decided to stop worrying so much.
I will be okay. I don't think that I need to file a motion for any kind of deferment and I think we may get by without a modification in my plan. If it turns out that it's too hard on my lowered income then we will file for the modification. As far as catching up goes... I will send out a $700 money order to my dearly beloved trustee on my first paydate and then my payroll deductions will start again and I will be back on track.
I am going to be making $4 less an hour, but I've been thinking about it, and it will really even out I think. My insurance is going to be $300 less a month and with the new baby coming I am changing my w-4 to have less withheld, a lot less... all with attorneys permission, of course.
The insurance thing has been weighing on me since I found out that I was being laid off. I had no IDEA what I was going to do. I can't possibly afford to have a baby without insurance. Here comes the solution. My insurance here goes into effect after only 30 days, so I will be all good. The doctor is going to see me on the 22nd (can you believe I will be 26 weeks??) for only $100 without insurance and my dad is helping us with that as being laid off depleted my little savings account. I am also going to enroll for a FSA so that I can pay my $1000 or so deductables/co-pays pre-tax. I am going to put $2000 in the FSA which works out to a $76 deduction from each check but it's kind of like financing my childbirth without all the actual credit stuff. Gotta love the IRS.
Anyway, I thought I would let y'all in on my little plans and hopes. I am going to like it here.
