    Credit Card Usage

    Hi All,

Question- If you need to make some purchases, (under $1,000) on a credit card, is it okay to make the next months payment, and then stop. We're not looking at filing until May of next year. Current on everything now.

is it something that is a necessity? i am not sure about the number of payments. maybe someone else can chime in one whether or not the number of payments matters.

well we've been really scraping by recently, and could use clothes, blankets and have a few medical related expenses as well. we've known for a bit that things weren't the best for us financially- but were making it. But now, it's just gotten to that point.. But we aren't filing until at least April.

oh i don't mind.. It's our income is above the median for CA. I make approx 55k a year, and my husband was making 38k, but just lost his job. So on paper right now- it seems like we could afford everything. But we have no idea when he'll be able to find a decent job, but if we hold out until april- and use money from our savings to pay the bills we need to, we can file for chap 7

i see. can you keep up your bills until then? we waited it out as long as we could and came to the realization that we could not find any more money to pay all the cc and loans we had. my husband's income is 1/3 of what it used to be and he is on his 4th job this year. i make more money than he does now and i do not make much. now we are waiting out the 90 days from the last cc charge to file and trying to come up with money to pay the stupid attorney. when you cannot pay your bills it is aweful hard to pay an attorney!!!

well...we were planning on basically using the little we have in savings to get by for a bit. We can wait the 4 months- basically just paying the 1 car we need, and possibly one of the cc's, if we end up using it.

How about stop paying the CCs and use that money for what you need. If you are going to file and keep paying the loans and CCs you are only wasting your money
