    Purchase during Ch 13

Has anyone purchsed a new appliance or done small home improvements for the house during ch 13? I really need a new stove and will be able to do it for cash after income tax time. According to my attorney, the Trustee doesn't take returns under $2000 so that will give me the money for a cash purchase and installation. Any advice?
    Thanks.

If, in fact, your trustee does not withhold your income tax refund if you get one, depending on what your refund is, that money is yours do to with whatever you want and the best thing to do is put it toward something that is going bad (i.e., your stove, car repairs, major house repair, etc.) so you won't have any problems later in your Plan if you don't have any extra cash.

That really depends on how creditor friendly that trustee is, and by how much the trustee wants to line his/her own pocket. Remember - your monthly Chapter 13 payments are divid up between creditors and trustees.

In the meantime, there are some incredible deals on freecycle.org or craigslist. The stuff on freecycle is free - and a lot of it is in excellent shape. If you don't see it you just ask for it!

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..
