Well my husband and I just came back from our 341 meeting. We got there early. It was scheduled for 10:30 and we arrived around 9:45am. Our attorney was outside talking so we walked in. We weren't sure if we should walk in the room though since our attorney wasn't inside and we were early. The security guards held on to our cell phones (and beepers, if we had any). I normally keep time with my cell phone since I don't wear a watch. I went back up to talk to the security guards to find out what time it was. They were super nice and told me that I had nothing to worry about.
When my husband and I finally went into the room, we were surprised by how many people were in there. About 4 people went ahead of us and seemed virtually painless for them. Then they called my husband and myself. The trustee only asked my husband and I for our driver's license and social security cards. The trustee then asked us which one would do the talking and I said that I would. I answered all of the questions (name, address, have you signed the petition, have you read the petition, have you been an owner or partner in any business within so many years, have you ever filed for bankruptcy before, have you listed all of your debits and assets, any transfers over $1000 in the last 12 months, and then asked us about our vehicle - is that the only one we have, is it paid off, and such like that.)
I guess our filing is a bit different than others since we have to $275 for the next 12 months. From what I understand, it's asset from our vehicle and I think part of our deferred comp, although I'm not sure.) I'm okay with paying though and may try to get it paid off a bit early, since I would rather not have any more debt than I need to.
Our time with the trustee was over within 5 minutes or so. We had to sign a promissary note showing that we would pay the $275/mo. Most people were dressed pretty decent, but there was one guy who came in who was in work pants and a dirty looking t-shirt. My husband doesn't like slacks, unless he has to wear them, so he did wear nice jeans, buttoned down long sleeve shirt, tie, and a sports coat. I dressed as far as I would have for work - slacks and jacket.
I just thought I'd share our experience, in case anyone was interested. Now we just have to wait for the 60 days to see if there are any objections from the creditors. Our attorney is also waiting to see if our Dell credit is secured or unsecured. He said that he'll know in a week or so whether they can show proof that it's secured. He said that he'll call us if it is secured and then we'll have to pay that off.

Glad things went well for you. It is good to know about other peoples experiences. I am glad my attorney suggested we look at this site. Her website is very informative and provides many links to just about any question that you might have but I think she knew we needed the reassurance from people in our situation. I have had a lot of questions answered here and this forum has given me something to check besides pacer.
it is at least half over with.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....
