    Is that sunshine I'm seeing??

I fought the IRS and won. I finally feel the cloud of doom over my head lifting. I didn't really owe them any money, but they reviewed my 2003 taxes and said due to some legality issue I owed them almost $1500. I objected and told them what IRS code I used that negated their reasoning and they just sent me a notice saying I didn't owe the money after all. I am soooo excited. I really thought that money was kissed goodbye. Now all I have to do is finish up my 60 days to get my discharge and it will be sunny skies.

Congradulatons - YES IT CAN BE DONE!!!

6 years ago I fought a battle with Social Security for my mom. She was an invalid and bedridden at the time.
My mom never qualified for social security, so she never drew benefits.
When she had her strokes 8 years ago - social workers said she qualified - signed her up - and she started drawing benefits (for 2 years)....

During this time she had 2 strokes, big hospital bills, rehab bills, etc.

Two years later Social Security sent me a letter stating that DUH - she was not qualified to receive benefits and never had been. THEY DEMANDED PAYMENT IN FULL - OF ALL BENEFITS PAID OUT FOR HER!!! Hospital bills, medicines, rehab bills, etc.

      I FOUGHT - I WON!!!!!!!!

I contacted my Senators, Congressmen, wrote Washington's main office. I informed them of her condition, I was her Power of Attorney, and I WAS NOT PAYING THEM ANYTHING BACK FOR THEIR SUPIDITY IN RECORD KEEPING........ AND TRAINING OF THEIR STAFF.

I had told them at the time they sent her benefits that she was NOT QUALIFIED - and we already knew it.
They had decided otherwise and sent benefits anyways.

My mom was on a pension only, with no funds available to pay back such a bill - approx $200,000. Since this was THEIR ERROR - LET THEM EAT IT............

Thanks to congressmen, senators, and staff in Washington DC - they dropped the issue and said she was not longer responsible to repay it.....

It took 2 years of certified letters - we never had to go to court to get it settled.

YES - YOU CAN WIN AGAINST UNCLE SAM............just use the right method and stand your ground.......

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
