    Amex Double reporting?

How can I remove my old AMEX card that was Discharged from my BK. I had one AMEX car in 2006 and on one of the bureaus (Experian) its showing two separate account numbers with balances similar and similar open/close dates. I have never had more then on AMEX and because of this I believe that is why my Experian Score is soo low. I checked it today and its a at 538 While my Transuinon is at 660 and does not show this second 'ghost' account and its the same situation with Equifax as well it does Not show the second AMEX account and its score is 628. Since the site that I'm using does not show the entire account number I don't know how to contact AMEX about it.

This is how I see it online.

    - Condition: Derogatory
    - Balance: $0
    - Type: Credit Card
    - Pay Status: Collection/Chargeoff

And then the other account that shows up on al 3 bureaus shows up as.

I tried doing the online dispute and they said it was verified. What should I do?

I would contact AMEX and see if you can have this corrected through them.

You will not be able to "remove" your old AMEX from the credit reporting agencies, you will need to get it cleaned up and it appears to be a mess. As BassBoy advises, contact AMEX directly (the address should be listed right on your credit report where to contact them) giving them a brief but descriptive statement as to the problem and that it needs to be resolved and that you are being advised it is being reported correctly to the CRA's by AMEX. Copy the CRAs on that letter and send them a copy. To expedite the situation, include a copy of your discharge and a copy of the creditor matrix from your BK showing the AMEX account included in the filing. You more than likely will be asked for a copy of that anyway. That should hopefully resolve the situation but remember this stuff takes time so it could be 4 to 8 weeks before you hear back from anyone. Also, send certified mail, return receipt requested.
