    When does trouble arise?

Does trouble usually arise between filing and 341 or is it from the 341 to the discharge?

I can't help but feel that I need to be prepared for the worst for some reason.

I don't have anything to worry about except the charge up of $6000 on a credit card which I'm planning on paying back. Will that cause issues?

Is there anything else I should be concerned with or am I being an idiot?

You may hear about showing additional materials like added bank statements, cc statements, and other documentation before the 341. And that may give you pause to be sure. But from what I hear, the most "trouble" seems to happen at or after the 341. However, your mileage may vary.

Why are you "paying back" the $6,000 charge? Why can't you wait 3-6 months before filing? You could stop charging now and pay the minimums on all the cards for the next 3-6 months, thereby showing you didn't plan to go bankrupt right after you charged $6,000. Plus, that money can get you a good attorney as well.

No, you're not an idiot at all, you're just worried like all of us who do this thing called bankruptcy.

I worry constantly also. I check pacer every day to see if there is any changes and there isn't. I have not had my meeting yet, my meeting is next Friday, and I too was wondering if the "trouble" happens after filing or after the meeting. I thought after the meeting you were pretty much safe.

I just had my meeting yesterday, and so far I have not had any trouble at all. There was one creditor at the hearing and I expected that I might have some trouble with them, but they just asked a couple questions and wanted to know where they should send a reaffirmation agreement. I checked Pacer today and the Trustee filed a Report of No Distribution, so I don't expect there to be any trouble.

Thanks for the replies. If anyone else would like to add anything it would be appreciated.

I already filed and had been struggling with the minimum pmts for a long time before filing. The $6k is better left undiscussed.
