    Credit Reporting

I just had my 341 yesterday, so assuming all goes well I won't have my discharge until the middle/end of Nov. However, shortly after I filed some of my creditors immediately zero'ed out my balances, and reported to the credit bureaus as Included in Bankrupcty or the like. On the other hand, some who are fully aware of my bankruptcy are continuing to report the balance, and how many days late. ( I only know this because I subscribe to credit manager) so anytime any changes happen, I am immediately notified. My question is, what should be reported at this stage of the game? I have not yet received a discharge, but at the same time these companies reporting are fully aware of my bankruptcy status prior to reporting me and my balance to the credit bureau.

My understanding is the companies that are already reporting the accounts with a 0 balance are just ahead of the game. I believe a lot of the companies wait until discharge is actually granted before they write the account off and report that to the bureaus.

Many will wait till after discharge is confirmed - then report.

Check 30 days after discharge and see what has been updated. Then take it from there.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
