    Reaffirmation and rebuilding credit

I'm totally confused about this. We talked to our attny office yet again yesterday regarding reaffirming our auto. One of the girls in the office told my husband that if we reaffirm the lender will report our payments to the credit bureaus and if we pay on time it will help rebuild our credit.

I could be totally wrong, but I thought they wouldn't report payments on a reaff. She said it would only say iib if we did not reaffirm.

I'd still rather do a ride through, but she doesn't seem to think this is an option.

Also, she says the trustee still hasn't determined if our case is an asset or not. We are 37 days post 341. Trustee mentioned at that time he might want 2 vehicles appraised. How long does it usually take before they decide? Can they ask for that all the way up to discharge? Can they discharge and still ask for vehicles later if they don't close the case? I'd really like for this to all be over so I know how to proceed with life.

    thanks

On the reaff, it is up to the lender as to whether or not they report the payments. Some posters have mentioned that they do, but others have reaffirmed and the payments have not been reported. The lender is not obligated to report them.
