Here's the deal. I live in a mobile home that is located on an Air Force Base. Being that we are civilians that aren't going to help us with the move. Not that it would help considering that our credit shot so we can't buy land to put it on...and there are only 3 parks in town that are not even considered liveable.
We are considering filing bankruptcy to get out from the mobile home. Since we owe more than it is worth. We have plenty of charge offs and collections accounts that bankruptcy is probably the way to go.
But here the deal. I just started a new job that is temporary since I am a student in college. So I'm making money now that I can afford our debts where as before I was unemployed and couldn't. With the house and all outstanding debts...we are about 56,000 thousand in debt (considering the mobile home is 44,000).
We'd like to file Ch 7 to get out from it...but according to all the internet calculators...it looks like we'll have to file Ch 13 because of my income. But it's not a permanent income. So doing a ch 13 is kinda scary because I don't know if we will always have this income (Currently my job is not to exceed Sept 05...because I am a student...but it could go permanent...when I dont know) to make the scheduled payments.
How is that considered? Plus...if it does go permanent..I'll have student loans in excess of 400 a month is two years....do that take that into consideration if I have to file a ch 13? It's not included now...because I don't make payments...but soon I will have to...and if they take all disposable income...I won't be able to make the loan payments.
Any suggestions?
P.S.
We are going to surrender the house after we rent one...do we include botht the mortgage payment and the rent payment on the living expense? Will that help?
