How long does it take for Creditors to update thier reports?

    Hi all!

I was discharged 30 days ago and none of my creditors have changed thier postings? How long should this typically take?

    Thanks!

I don't know if there is 1 answer. I am under the impression-but don't recall why LOL-that some report monthly and some report every 60-90 days, kind of like a subscription where they pay more for more frequent updating. Plus, I figure some may report at the beginning of the month, while others report in the middle or the end.

I would imagine that if you're 30 days post discharge, you could start disputing information. http://creditboards.com/forums has great info on disputing & sample letters, etc.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

What are they reporting right now.

But as Staci pointed out, it really depends on the individuals creditors update cycle (and that really only applies to the Big Creditors). But I would think that within 30-60 days of discharge. However, some people on this forum report seeing their credit reports updated within days and weeks of filing BK, so it depends.

But, go ahead and start disputing.

Right now every single one is still reporting the same stuff they did before the BK.
