Hello ladies and gentlemen. I'm Isabelle from Georgia. I hope to retire this August from a company that I started work at in 1967. Haha, but with my retirement and social security, I will only make about $24,000, and I only make about $40,000 a year currently. Back when I had my first child, my company fired me, as it was legal then to fire a woman when she was pregnant.
So it took me 14 years to get re-hired full time by this company.
Anyway, I seem to have found myself in trouble. I owe over $50,000 in credit card debt.
An acquaintance of mine is going to check with my creditors and see if they would take half of what I owe.
Of course, I don't have $25,000, but I have a house that was recently appraised for $125,000, and I owe $75,000 on it.
So I was hoping to take care of debts that way.
I also have 3 plots of land next to each other away from my house. I have a 2 acre lot worth $14,500, and two 1 acre lots worth $8,500 each (or so the tax man tells me), and a very small travel trailer on the land.
Oh my, I don't know what all else to tell...so many personal, financial, work related, and health problems right now.
I can't keep on making these payments of $800 a month to my creditors, and $600 a month mortgage, and I want to retire this August.
I would like to keep my 4 acres and just live in my travel trailer.
I'm so stressed out. I know that if in person, this is a strange introduction. It's like I'm just coming up to strangers and telling my problems. Isn't the Internet wonderful?
