? on Automatic Stay & Student Loan Payments

I understand that during the automatic stay, no creditor can send bills, request payment, etc. This applies to student loans, even though they're not going to be discharged in the BK, right?

My question is: if I don't make a student loan payment while the automatic stay is in place, can the lender count me as past due after the stay is lifted? If not, I'd rather use that $$$ for tires. (Needed to replace them months ago but didn't have the $$$...)
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Sallie Mae told me that directly, and then gave me a forebearance for a year "to get my finances in order" they said.
