How many of us have a fixed mortgage?

I ask because it seems to be the majority of people that are going through foreclosure have an adjustable rate. I have a 30 yr fixed, but because of divorce, I'm going through foreclosure. And since my monthly income would cover the mortgage with little else to spare [ like utilities, food, etc]

We have two houses in foreclosure, one has a fixed rate, the other is variable, but has actually gone down twice (I think, maybe 3 times?) since it became variable in May '08. In our case the variable loans are actually significantly better than our fixed loans!

Both of our mortgages are fixed. One at 6% and the other *gasp* 14.5%..gotta love ditech. But, in our position, the outragegous payment actually helps us pass the means test. It is tight, but we can deal.

Plantlvr, I'm in the exact same boat. Fixed mtg, but after divorce I just can't afford it on my own. Can't sell; upside down now. So . . . bkruptcy and foreclosure!
