Find a place to rent NOW?

Hi,

I'm very new to this board...but have been reading it for a couple of days now. I have an appt with the lawyer on Sept 27th to start the procedure for bankruptcy. CH 7 is what I'm hoping to do. I am letting everything go...my vehicles and my house. My question is should I go find a place to rent now and a vehicle before my bankruptcy is finalized or should I wait? The guilt is getting the best of me. :cry: Never dreamed I'd be doing this. But I can't keep struggling when my place of employment keeps laying me off....

Wait, if you are going to file BK and let the house go, why not live there for a while and save some money to move. After all, you plan on not paying your mortgage, correct? Bank the money if you can.

Thanks for the reply.....I was wondering how long does it usually take before the bank tells you that you have to get out? The vehicles also? Just curious...don't wanna be on the street....lol

The automatic stay should give you 3 months-though creditors can file for 'relief from stay'. Even if they do that, you'll know about it ahead of time.
